Squares

This is one of my very favorites! It was once again made 4-5 years ago. I wish I knew what the fabric is, but as I post all these quilts I made in the past I won't. I'm much better at keeping track now! I made this one as part of a class at my local quilt shop. We started with a charm pack and cut all the squares in fourths making 2 1/2" squares. After marking the fabric and basting the quilt we arranged all the squares on the top and sewed the squares down as we quilted, leaving a soft raw edge. This quilt was recently given as a gift to a friend with a brand new baby girl!

Another oldie...

Pattern: Bundle Up Baby Girl by Cotton Way I believe the fabric is Buggy Barn, but I can't find any selvages to find out exactly what it is. It at least 3 years old though.

Found...

I'm in the process of organizing my sewing/craft space. It was moving back to the dark corners of the basement because I wanted the kids back upstairs. It's a little sad but, so far the kiddos have stayed in their own beds upstairs so it's all worth it! New carpet was coming so I moved everything downstairs in a hurry and it all got dumped in two different rooms. So over the last few months I have slowly been trying to get it cleaned up and organized. The exciting thing is I keep finding little treasures like these (probably should have ironed them first):
Two very nearly complete quilt tops!!

This one needed one border sewn on....I even found the border cut and ready to go!
It is now complete with all it's borders and is waiting with it's backing for me to buy some batting so I can quilt it! I think the pattern is Yellow Brick Road and the fabric is Celebrate Spring by Sandy Gervais. Note that I pieced this top probably 4 years ago so I can't imagine the fabric is anywhere to be found.

I started this quilt with the intent of giving it as a baby gift.
Unfortunately that particular baby is probably 5 now! Whoops! I'm not sure how it got lost in the depths of my sewing room because I love it. I can't decide what to do with it now though. I want to add a border around it because for some reason I don't think it will look good left alone like this, but I'm having a hard time finding a good border fabric. I wish I had more of the white polka dot fabric but I don't have enough left! So it is staying in the unfinished pile for awhile longer while I figure it out. Most of the fabric is Look and Learn by American Jane Patterns Sandy Klop with some other strips and dots added. (Obviously I need to take a few more close up pictures so you can actually tell what the fabrics look like! Probably should find a better camera too....but that's just me dreaming!!) I will have several more posts showing past quilts I have made and I also have many works in progress right now.
